3,000 GPM Pipeline Discharge Water Treatment
Mobile carbon and sand filters were used to filter water
at a flow rate of 3,000 gallons per minute to keep up with the water removal
rate from the pipeline in California. Water was pushed out of the pipeline
into a series of frac tanks and then treated by ProAct.
A problem with the suspended solids in the sand filter back
wash water was encountered early in the project. The solids were not
settling before the next back wash event. ProAct responded within 24 hours
to install a coagulating polymer injection system to speed the removal of
solids from the back wash water. This modification restored the ability to
treat water at 3,000 gpm.
